Shoals Gold record Room

Located in downtown Florence, Alabama, the Shoals Gold Record Room is a dynamic, upscale tribute to the thriving Muscle Shoals music scene. Featuring 60 gold records, a giant mural collage of iconic music photos, guitar displays, and vintage records autographed by legendary recording artists, it has become a “must-see” for locals and visitors to the area. The room also has a state-of-the-art sound system, a player piano, and custom designed flooring inlaid with guitars and a large gold record.

A floor-to-ceiling backdrop offers visitors the opportunity to be “photographed with Cher” in front of the iconic Muscle Shoals Sound Studio. Guests can also use digital technology to hear snippets from songs on the gold records that line the front walls. Much of the memorabilia in the room is on loan from the private collection of music historian Steve Price.

During the past few years, the well-appointed venue at 201 South Court Street has become a favorite spot for live performances, receptions, parties, corporate meetings, and other events. It’s also popular with the crowds who attend the “First Friday” events in downtown Florence that are held from March through December. Legendary Muscle Shoals musicians and emerging local artists perform for those events, which are co-sponsored by the Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area and the Shoals Area Chamber of Commerce.

The venue is within easy walking distance of upscale local dining establishments, Billy Reid’s flagship store, art galleries, coffee shops, “All The Best” record store, Wilson Park, the University of North Alabama ,and the award-winning GunRunner Boutique Hotel.
